Data for SHEBA Investigations

To anticipate the needs for different modelling efforts, data is being provided at different scales and at different resolutions. For global or basin scales, parameters such as surface temperatures and albedo, have been taken from the AVHRR Polar Pathfinder data sets at 25 km resolution. For regional modelling uses, 5 km resolution data has been subsectioned from the the full APP data at a 5 km resolution. And finally, for single-column purposes, a Langragian data set centered over the Sheba ship is also provided.

GRIDS USED and LINKS to DATA:

1.BLACK: DATA Full AVHRR Polar Pathfinder (APP) grid (outer boundary) at 25 Km

2.BLUE: DATA Grid used for reprocessed POLES data and model output at 25 Km

3.GREEN: DATA Regional grid. Subsectioned from full APP grid at 5 Km.

4.RED: DATA Ship centered local data.
